Hoy hemos tenido el honor de participar en la Junta Directiva y Asamblea General de Bermeo Tuna World Capital, celebrada en la ciudad de Bermeo, un evento muy especial al marcar el cierre del año y coincidir con la temporada navideña. Esta reunión no solo ha sido significativa por ser la última del año, sino también por la energía y compromiso con los que todos los asistentes contribuyeron al encuentro.
Queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a todos los asociados que, desde distintas partes del mundo, incluyendo nuestra delegación desde Ecuador, hicieron un esfuerzo extraordinario para asistir. Su presencia y colaboración fueron fundamentales para reflexionar sobre los logros alcanzados durante el 2024 y, sobre todo, para trazar con entusiasmo los objetivos y retos que nos esperan en el próximo año.
Durante la reunión, TUNACONS tuvo la oportunidad de compartir su experiencia y avances en materia de pesca sostenible, presentando las iniciativas y resultados obtenidos a través de la implementación de los Dispositivos Agregadores de Peces Ecológicos (EcoFADs) y las mejoras continuas en la pesquería de atún de cerco. Fue un espacio enriquecedor donde se destacaron los esfuerzos conjuntos entre distintos actores del sector pesquero para promover prácticas responsables y sostenibles.
Agradecemos profundamente a Bermeo Tuna World Capital por abrir este espacio de diálogo y colaboración, que refuerza la importancia de la gestión pesquera responsable a nivel global.

Today, we had the honor of participating in the Board of Directors and General Assembly of Bermeo Tuna World Capital, held in the beautiful city of Bermeo. This gathering was particularly special, not only because it marked the last meeting of the year during the holiday season but also for the energy and commitment demonstrated by all attendees.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the members who traveled from various parts of the world, including our delegation from Ecuador, making a tremendous effort to attend. Their participation was essential in reviewing the achievements of 2024 and, most importantly, in outlining the goals and challenges for the upcoming year with renewed motivation.
During the meeting, TUNACONS had the opportunity to present its progress in sustainable fishing, highlighting the results of the EcoFAD (Ecological Fish Aggregating Devices) initiatives and continuous improvements in the purse seine tuna fishery. It was a valuable space where collaborative efforts among different stakeholders in the fishing sector were showcased, emphasizing the importance of promoting responsible and sustainable practices.
We deeply thank Bermeo Tuna World Capital for facilitating this collaborative dialogue, which strengthens the importance of responsible fisheries management on a global scale.
